For my Eagle Scout Project in March 2021, I designed and built three modular redwood picnic tables for Napa Open Space at Moore Creek Park, including an ADA-compliant model with wheelchair access. The design process involved reviewing multiple reference tables, finalizing structural dimensions, and accounting for wood variability and shrinkage in fabrication. To enable transport into remote locations, the tables were engineered with a modular system that minimized weight per section and allowed efficient onsite assembly. Material protection was addressed through multi-coat linseed oil finishing, balancing durability with environmental considerations.
